Experience

I'm a marine biologist specializing in sharks. I have a master's degree in marine sciences, rescue diver with more than 500 dives, I practice recreational kayaking, snorkeling and a bit of surfing. I've been in La Paz for 8 years and I have become an expert in logistics for any trip or expedition in the area. I have organized a filming expedition for Fundación Televisa and I have participated in National Geographic Expeditions.

About this experience

Where white sand and turquoise water meet the desert, incredible landscapes and fascinating biodiversity, is what you can find in our expedition to Espiritu Santo Island, declared by UNESCO as World Natural Heritage of Humanity and Reserve of the Biosphere. You can swim and interact with sea lions in their natural habitat, in one of the healthiest sea lion colonies in the Gulf of California, swim in colorful reefs full of marine life, and you may have the opportunity to see dolphins and whales in Season, móbula blankets and several species of seabirds. Without doubt an experience that you can not miss in La Paz. Do you know the difference between a seal and a sea lion? Guiding all our expeditions, we have a marine biologist expert in local fauna, some of whom are currently working on research and conservation in the area. Do not hesitate to ask all the questions you have! After taking a break on the island and eating, we will go in search to swim with the Whale Shark (completely harmless to humans), since during the autumn-winter, many individuals come to feed in this area very close to the boardwalk the city.
Recommendations

It is recommended to bring personal items such as towel, cap and sun protection (biodegradable). In the winter months a light jacket.
Requirements

- It is essential to know how to swim. - The sunscreen used must be biodegradable so as not to damage corals and marine life. - A minimum of 6 people is required to perform this experience. If it is canceled for that reason, nirik.travel will refund 100% of your payment.

It’s a legit company which doesn’t overload the boat. They take a full day for the trip and make it an enjoyable adventure. Pete is a marine biologist who likes to explain about the flora and fauna of the bay. We had a small group and encountered whale sharks and sea lions among tons of fish.
