Description

I am Mexican and my passion for my roots makes my tours contagious. I really like to meet different people because each one of you is unique and unrepeatable. My tours are oriented to your interests, according to your age and your tastes. What I like to show are the archaeological sites, the popular festivals, and the protected natural sites. I am a student of Nahuatl and I am in the Toltecayotl, which means I'm in the path of wisdom of our ancestors. I also do cycling, snorkeling, and kayaking. As a painter and jeweler, I have an artistic sensibility that allows me to be able to make walking tours oriented to art, such as muralism, art galleries, museums, and art exhibitions.

Experience

I started as a guide in the Sian Ka'an biosphere reserve (2011), in Quintana Roo, my work included walks through the jungle, reef snorkeling, sightings of sea turtles and dolphins, and swimming in cenotes. In 2012, I certified myself as an archeological and cultural guide by the Ministry of Tourism, which allows me to guide throughout the country. I work in 4 languages and I specialize in cultural and gastronomic walks, in CDMX, Edo. Mex., Puebla, Morelos, Guanajuato, Michoacán, Oaxaca, Chiapas, and the Yucatan Peninsula.

About this experience

We are going to visit the Dolores Olmedo Museum at Mexico City’s southern extreme, with the most impressive Day of the Death” monumental altar that reflects one of the deepest Mexican traditions. After the museum we are going to take a boat in the ecological area of Xochimilco, (is not the touristic commercial area). We are going to see the Mexican salamander Ajolote, you can come back by canoe or boat to the arrival point to enjoy a Mexican lunch. About the museum: Is housed in a rambling stone structure, originally dating from the Sixteenth Century, formerly known as the Hacienda La Noria. By donating her art collection to the people of Mexico, Dolores Olmedo (1908-2002) created a cohesive whole, where treasures of the fine arts were incorporated into colonial construction, surrounded by lush gardens, with Mexican plant species, and inhabited by gorgeous animals like the magical peacocks and the enigmatic hairless Xoloiztcuintle dogs, a Pre-Columbian breed. Since the museum opened its doors to the public in 1994, its greatest treasure is its painting. The world’s most important collections of works by Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo are housed here permanently. There is, as well, a collection of the woodcuts and book illustrations by Russo-French painter Angelina Beloff, Rivera’s companion during his early years as a budding painter in Europe. In addition, a privileged display of over nine hundred archaeological pieces provides interest and contrast, as well as a glimpse of the aesthetic of a number among Mexico’s diverse ancient cultures.
