About this experience

The Marietas Islands are an archipelago formed by 2 islands, 2 islets, numerous rocks, and several low rocks and sand. They are in an ecological transition zone, so they have unique biodiversity and are a very important site for the feeding and nesting of several species of birds, fish and the occasional rest of some marine mammals, both resident and migratory. On the islands, we can observe a great variety of seabirds that nest and rest here, among which are: the world-famous blue-footed booby, the magnificent frigates, several species of seagulls and herons, as well as pelicans. Around them, the underwater world also offers a great diversity of fish that find food and shelter in the reefs of the site, highlighting the king angel. Forming the rocky reef we can observe several species of corals and sponges. You can also observe, with a bit of luck and patience, dolphins or turtles resting or traveling near the place! If possible, we will visit one of the two main beaches, hidden beach or la nopalera beach, the Marietas Islands are under strict federal and local protection. The duration of this experience is approximately 6 hours.
Recommendations

It is recommended to bring a refillable water bottle, swimsuit, a light towel, biodegradable sunscreen, comfortable clothes, and a camera. If you think you are susceptible to dizziness, ask your doctor about any preventive measures to avoid it.
Restrictions

IMPORTANT: The Commission of Natural Protected Areas (CONANP), together with Bahía Unida AC, strictly regulates access to the Playa del Amor (Playa Escondida) in Marietas Islands, applying a strong control in the number of daily visitors, to guarantee its conservation. Therefore, as of August 31, 2016, only 116 people are allowed access per day, spaces that are distributed to the 176 authorized vessels. Due to this, our captains, guides and sales staff have NO control or responsibility in case of not obtaining spaces, since no tour operator can guarantee entry to La Playa Escondida and booking in advance does not guarantee it either.
Requirements

We require a minimum of 4 passengers to carry out the experience (check with the Nirik.travel team for the number of reservations on your date to guarantee the experience). It is important that they know how to swim. For safety reasons children under 10 years old, pregnant people, people with heart problems, high blood pressure, back or neck problems are not accepted.
